Café Hafuch Day

L’histoire

Café hafuch is Israel's everyday coffee: espresso "upside down" with steamed milk—akin to a cappuccino or flat white, ordered in countless neighborhood cafés from north to south. Foam art is optional; conversation is mandatory. It fuels morning meetings, laptop sessions, and the pause between errands that defines urban Israeli café culture as much as the drink itself.

Coffeehouses are social infrastructure as much as caffeine stops. Hafuch sits beside filter coffee and strong espresso, but the milky cup is the default comfort order for many locals. Beans and roasting styles evolve with specialty culture, yet the ritual stays: a ceramic cup, a saucer, and permission to sit. Breakfast often means hafuch with a pastry, boureka, or nothing but the paper.

On Café Hafuch Day, pull a shot, steam milk silky, and pour a balanced cup without rushing the foam. Drink it unhurried. Celebrate Israeli café culture in its most familiar, comforting form—middle-eastern city life in a cup. Order it the way you like—stronger, milkier, or with a pastry.
