The story

Over three millennia ago, the ancient Olmec civilization in Latin America experimented with chocolate, creating a bitter, unsweetened liquid. In 1689, Irish physician Hans Sloane added milk to chocolate water during his time in Jamaica, laying the groundwork for milk chocolate. The pivotal moment arrived in 1839 when German company Jordan & Timaeus introduced milk chocolate as a beverage. The true transformation occurred in the 19th century when Swiss confectioner Daniel Peter and Henri Nestlé revolutionized chocolate. In the 1870s, their collaboration led to the creation of the first solid milk chocolate bar by incorporating condensed milk. This breakthrough marked a monumental shift, offering a creamier and sweeter chocolate experience.
