World Olive Day

The story

World Olive Day, marked on November 26, celebrates the fruit that has flavored Mediterranean life for thousands of years. Whether green or black, brined or pressed into golden oil, the olive is both everyday pantry staple and symbol of peace, hospitality, and the sunlit landscapes where it thrives.

Olive trees were cultivated across the eastern Mediterranean in antiquity, and their fruit traveled with traders, farmers, and empires.
