The story

The term ”steak,“ popularized in the 19th century, initially referred to a grilled or fried cut of meat. The 20th century saw the emergence of dedicated steakhouse restaurants, elevating steak to a symbol of luxury and culinary delight. While steak can technically refer to a thick cut from any animal, beef takes the spotlight, with its roots traced back to Scandinavia in the 15th century. Italian influence, particularly in Florence during the Renaissance, played a crucial role in shaping the modern concept of cooking steaks. Steak became a cowboy favorite in the American West as cows migrated to the new world, and the Industrial Revolution further fueled its popularity, making it accessible to the masses through mass processing.
